During 2009 many things in my life changed drastically. I had known for a while I needed to have another dog in the family. I spent much of my time at my computer on Petfinders and other sites looking for a possible dog to fill the canine void in my life. I felt if the right dog was out there I should not miss the opportunity. There was Abbi!  I was thrilled to find out I could meet Abbi the next afternoon. The experience was every thing I'd hoped for, another proof of how blessed I am. Abbee (slight spelling change just to make her more my own) is everything I'd imagined and more. I got to bring Abee home that same afternoon. Abbee has really completed our family. She and the cats are like any family and she fits into my life like a glove. It's absolutely meant to be.  My only complaints are that she snores, steals the covers and won't get up in the morning.  I appreciate your organization and feel my story is an exact example of how perfectly life can work out when everyone’s efforts are based on love. 2009 Alumni

Sparky was wondering up and down North Liberty.  A woman said she saw someone dump him out of a car.  Marguerite Feldman grabbed him and ended up fostering him.  He was a very special boy - with lots of personality and loyalty.  He was really easy to train.  When the foster mom's friends came to work on her house (from Minnesota) - one of the men fell in love with him - Klem (the guy in the pic.)  They would even sleep together!  We adopted Sparky out to Klem and he's now an official "Northerner!"  2008 Alumni

• Marley was living under a house with her sister and brother (Bear and Bass) and was very shy. Now, she is best friends with an akita and is very loving and outgoing in her new home. 2006 Alumni

• This little puppy "Samson" is one of the first ones that we rescued from over on Clark Street . His new name is Bear and his sister was also adopted to the same family and her new name is "Bass". They are both doing great! 2006 Alumni

• Daisy was the first of her littermates (Clarabelle and Minnie) to be adopted. We are so excited that she is in a loving home and her new name is Bella! 2006 Alumni.
